Joy bank will be carrying out the next donation to mantralaya and affected people near mantralaya. We need donations as well as volunteers in large amount. We can also carry out the donation in north karnataka villages if we can raise sufficient funds. Members can donate money or used clothes which are in good condition which can be shirts,sarees,dresses etc.

spreading joy to the flood affected people

The retreating monsoon claimed several lives due to torrential rains and rampaging floods in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Many people who survived from this havoc were left homeless.

Joy bank group is planning to spread its joy to these people who are affected by floods by providing food/medicine/grains. I need suggestions from all the members regarding how we can accomplish this task with perfection. I am sure that all the members will lend a helping hand in this cause but how can we make sure that whatever donation we make reach the people who are in need and not into intermediate hands?? How can we directly reach to those people? For this cause lot of volunteers are required who can personally visit the flood affected areas and carry out the donation. Please pour in your ideas, suggestions and views at the earliest so that we can reach out to the affected areas as soon as possible.

Successful Completion of 2nd Donation in Banglore

Joy Bank Group has successfully completed the donation to Desire Society , Banglore on 19th July 2009. It was a wonderful experience to all the members who had assembled for the event. As it is rightly said, "The virtues of donations are great because it helps the needy and at the same time it gives an opportunity to the donor to give the surplus to the people in need. It helps the needy to sustain himself. This was indeed an opportunity for all the joy bank members to spread joy and happiness to all those lovely, innocent children.

We reached the society at 11 am. We had a warm welcome from Mr Subhash who is one of the founder members of Desire Society. He explained to us about his motivations and working of the society. DESIRE Society is a non-profit voluntary organization established in the year of 2003 , keeping an objective of health development and well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA).

Total of 10 joy members were present on the event day.

We Distributed eating stuff, cold drinks and chocolates to the children. All children were delighted to see us and were very friendly, full of energy. They introduced themselves one after other. I truly believe that happiness comes to those who are moving towards something they want very much to happen. And it always involves making someone else happy. All the members were spellbound by the activeness of these children.

After finishing their snacks , it was a round of talent. Children sang and danced and we too followed their tunes.Joy members kept encouraging the kids with their lovely comments and gestures. It really feels blessed to have such members in our family.

After the talent round was the time to play!!!! Joy members and desire kids had a lovely time playing cricket..All were back to their school days for that moment...

It was one of the most memorable days in our lives. It was a lovely experience . Our hearts were full of delight.. Before saying good bye, it was a very lovely gesture from 2 of our joy members(Venkatesh & Vijay) to take the kids along with them on rides rather i would say "joy rides". You must have seen the satisfied faces of the kids. I have truly started believing that In helping others, we shall help ourselves, for whatever good we give out , completes the circle and comes back to us.It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed.Do lend a helping hand to all those who are less blessed.

JOY BANK GROUP SPONSERED 2 STUDENTS!

Joy bank has sponsered 2 students for their education namely, Miss. Saylee Bhende and Mr Pavan.Nilajkar. Both the students are extremely talented and intelligent.

Saylee is studying in V.M.Shanbhag School in Belgaum.Pavan.Nilajkar is studying in G.S.S College Belgaum.

We wish both these students all the very Best and hope they excel in whatever they do.

"Desire society"-Bangalore is the place where joy bank will carry out its next donation.

Desire society is an organization that takes care of hiv positive kids who inherited this disease from their parents.Its parent society was registered in hyderabad in 2005.The branch in J.P Nagar shelters 22 children who are hiv +ve. They are in need of donations either in cash or kind.One of the directors of desire society Mr Subhash said that it would be helpful if we could donate few ceiling fans to them as it is their necessity at this moment. They are in need of books too.

Hello joy members,
As we are done with our first donation we now need to focus on our second. 50% of our members are from banglore hence it would be good if we schedule our next event in banglore itself. I need your suggestions ,views about our next event. Members can come up with names of orphanages,blind schools they have been across.
Joy bank group is a family. We all need to interact with each other for more ideas . Only then our goals can be achieved. Till now it was a one to one interaction between me and the other member. But i suggest we all interact with each other so that we feel AS A FAMILY.
